Bill Rice has had a long career of creating innovative products, particularly in personal finance.
He started his financial industry career at Fidelity Investments where he was recognized with an innovation award while in the public relations department.
At Liberty Financial Companies, Bill single-handedly created one of the first mutual fund websites in the industry. Bill was also part of the team that took the company public. He also help lead a project to create the WebSaver Annuity, the first fixed annuity sold exclusively on the Internet. He also was a driving force for creating the Stein Rowe Young Investor Fund, the first mutual fund that included a education goal as well as an investment goal. Bill was also instrumental in creating one of the early mutual fund wrap programs, Stein Rowe Counselor.
As head of marketing for Solomon Smith Barney’s Consulting Group, Bill created multiple programs to help brokers and their clients better understand managed accounts.
Bill left the financial industry to found and manage the Wealth Management New Service, helping to bring interesting investment articles to the media. This turned out to be one of the earliest online content marketing programs in the financial industry.
Bill Rice was also a founding member and current president of the Web Marketing Association, who for 25 years, have helped set the standard of Internet excellence in 96 industries with their well-regarded WebAward Competition for Website Development, Internet Advertising Competition and MobileWebAwards recognition programs.
Bill has a Bachelors of Science from Northeastern University in Boston. He also obtained a graduate certificate in business administration from Harvard University. He also completed the cryptocurrency certificate program at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Media Lab.
